Meeting the care and treatment needs of young and adolescent girl and boy survivors of sexual abuse in humanitarian settings requires technical expertise and coordination across multiple sectors. The Caring for Child Survivors of Sexual Abuse (CCS) resources articulate the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary for Gender-Based Violence (GBV) caseworkers, Child Protection (CP) caseworkers, and other relevant service providers working with young and adolescent girl and boy survivors of sexual abuse and their families.
The resource package includes the CCS Guidelines and Training. The Guidelines provide GBV and CP caseworkers and other relevant service providers with guidance on caring for young and adolescent girl and boy survivors of sexual abuse in humanitarian settings. The Training, inclusive of an e-Learning component, brings the content of the Guidelines to life and provides a space to dive deeper into the core knowledge areas, attitudes, and skills through discussion and practical exercises. The Guidelines and Training should be used together – the Training has been designed to provide GBV and CP caseworkers
and other relevant service providers with an opportunity for practical application of key concepts covered in the Guidelines.
