The IRC is committed to constant improvement as we develop new and better approaches for responding to and preventing violence against women and girls.
In partnership with leading universities and research institutes, we study the effectiveness of our work and apply lessons learned to new projects being developed. We are currently undertaking four cutting-edge research projects in Thailand, Ethiopia and Liberia to support child survivors and empower adolescent girls. We recently completed a mental health impact evaluation in the DRC to determine how to best facilitate the healing and recovery of survivors of sexual violence. In addition, WPE investigates best practices to reduce domestic violence, empower women, support the recovery of survivors and change social norms around violence.
